‘Mickleham Choral is so much more than a choir’

Musical Director – Juliet Hornby

Juliet started her career as a singer. She sang in venues as diverse as Roman amphitheatres, French chateaux, Istanbul’s Topkapi Palace and English Cathedrals. She taught singing at St John’s School in Leatherhead for 10 years and has a few private pupils. She is the Musical Director of The Music Room – a group of talented young singers who come together to rehearse and perform in France and is Deputy Music Director of the Epsom Male Voice Choir.

Juliet was appointed Musical Director of Mickleham Choral Society in 2006 when the choir numbered 26. It has now grown to over 60 members. The choir have undertaken a wide range of music under Juliet’s baton singing large scale choral works, new commissions, jazz, songs from the shows and much more but all with the emphasis on the sheer joy of singing together.

Piano/Accompanist – Judith Flint

Judith Flint studied piano accompanying, clarinet and singing at the Royal Academy of Music, and since leaving has worked as a freelance accompanist for singers and instrumentalists, and as a rehearsal pianist for opera, choral and dance groups. Judith is a regular accompanist for Park Opera and Guildford Opera. She works for Kingston Music Service as an accompanist for exams and concerts. When she is not playing the piano Judith enjoys reading, walking and cycling.
