| Musical Director Juliet HornbyJuliet began her career as a singer. She performed all over Europe but notably in Puccini’s Turandot at the Orange Festival in the South of France and also in Bayreuth. She has appeared in venues as diverse as Roman Amphitheatres, French Chateaux, Istanbul’s Topkapi Palace, English Cathedrals and Glyndebourne. She has been Musical Director of Mickleham Choral Society since 2005 and is now deputy Musical Director of the Epsom Male Voice Choir. She also directs The Music Room – a choir that performs in France during the summer. Juliet lives with her husband – a local GP – and three daughters in Mickleham. She conducts her choir with a rare combination of formidable professional competence and great good humour and is treasured by the whole society. Accompanist Lynda ChangLynda studied at the Royal College of Music for four years with Kendall Taylor. She achieved a first class B.Mus. and was awarded the Tagore Gold Medal – RCM’s annual nomination for the most distinguished students of the year. Although her professional career was spent in the computer industry, Lynda has been able to return to music and is kept busy as an accompanist and performer.Those who have heard the exquisite playing in her solo performances understand how lucky MCS is to have such expertise available week after week. |
